Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

  • What is ShadowProtect?

ShadowProtect is backup software that enables you to take an exact image of your desktop or server and store it in another location.  It not only takes a copy of your files and folders, it takes your applications, operating system and all of your configuration settings. An automatic backup copy can be taken as frequent as every 15 minutes meaning you can only lose a minimal amount of data.

  • How do I know if ShadowProtect software is right for me?

We believe that ShadowProtect software is suitable for everyone, from single users protecting their desktop and home to large businesses with multiple sites across the country. How do we know this? We have 'proven' it with our customers. Customers who have ShadowProtect software installed have  been able to recover their information in the event of data loss. You can take a look at some of the success stories on the Storagecraft website or try it out for yourself with a free 30 day trial.

  • What is the difference between the different editions?

There is no difference in the software itself in terms of features and functionality, the difference is in the license that you buy.

The version that you purchase will only install on the relevant operating system you are using.

  • How is ShadowProtect licensed?

Each ShadowProtect backup software edition is licensed per machine.  If you would like to use the software on multiple machines, you will be required to buy additional licenses.
